Madam Mydea White Simmons

Madam Simmons is a seasoned stateswoman, professional educator, business entrepreneur and religious leader with over 30 years of public service experience.
As a hardworking and professional educator, Madam Simmons possessed a passion for technical training and curriculum development with the objective of transferring practical skill sets to youths. Over the past twenty years, she served in several positions within the Liberia Baptist Missionary and Educational Convention including Treasurer; Chairperson on Constitutional Review; Co-Chairperson on Baptist Development and Investment Commission; Chairperson of Education Commission and have represented Liberia Baptists at many international conferences and forums.
Madam Simmons was the Founder, Sole Proprietor and Principal Administrator of Child Development Academy, Monrovia, Liberia (CDA) from October 1997 – August 2018, responsible for all administrative matters to ensure smooth operation of the school. Her administrative duties included the preparation and execution of fiscal budget exceeding US$500,000.00, formulating and supervising curriculum development to meet international standards and coordinating all Human Resource related issues to include interviewing, hiring and staff evaluation, etc.
She received a two-term appointment to the Board of Directors of National Social Security and Welfare Corporation (NASSCORP) by the former President of Liberia, H.E. Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf and current President of Liberia, H.E. George M. Weah, where she assisted in the process of formulating and monitoring the implementation of strategic goals and objectives set out by the Corporation’s Strategic Plans.
As Co-chair on Investments from July 2009 to March 2012, she had oversight responsibilities including reviewing, approving new investments and advising management on the general performance of the Corporation’s Investment portfolio to ensuring profitability of investments of contributors’ funds.
Elected to a five-year term in September of 2017 as President of the Baptist Women Union of West Africa, she coordinated the affairs of Baptist Women in 12 West African countries by planning conferences, budgets, travels, reports and programs for women, young girls and children.
She received an Honorary Doctor of Divinity degree from the Liberia Baptist Theological Seminary, Paynesville; M.A. Educational Administration from the Cuttington University Graduate School, Monrovia; and M.Ed. in Special Education from the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, MN, USA.
