Mr. George Bright has had a broad involvement in the fields of finance, investment banking and economic development, global markets transactions and
operations, spanning over 25 years. His years of experience covers positions in financial management, treasury, resource mobilization as well as structured and
project financing. He also possesses impressive track record in bilateral and multilateral negotiations involving complex financial deals in USA, Ghana,
Liberia and in other countries.
Mr. Bright is currently the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the National Social Security & Welfare Corporation of Liberia, a position he has held since
March 2011. As CFO, he provides leadership and supervision to ensure effective coordination among the various units consistent with achieving the
corporation's business objectives.
Before coming to Liberia to work with the National Social Security & Welfare Corporation in 2011, he occupied the Director, Interim Chief Financial Officer
position for six years at Orion Energy Inc. in Washington D.C., USA. He has held several key managerial positions in the past, including, Senior Investment
Officer - Treasury Department of the African Development Bank (AfDB) and General Manager of Strategic African Securities (SAS), a top tier brokerage firm in
Ghana and Member of the Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE).
His professional experience also comprises a broad list of management consultancies with both public and private sector entities in Africa, the Caribbean,
United States and Europe. He consulted for PISO Investment Inc. (Bowie, Maryland, U.S.A.) as a Managing Partner from 1998 to 2005.
He holds an MBA in International Finance & Banking from the American University, D.C., USA and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Corporate Finance from the
Syracuse University, New York, USA.
